I love a good story.

I love UX research in the same way that I love a good detective mystery novel - it’s an opportunity to hear people’s stories, discover patterns, find the outliers, put the pieces together, and discover the (sometimes surprising) truth. Creativity, discovery, and critical thinking are woven throughout both the detective mystery and the UX design process. If one can understand the story behind why a product exists, one can create a good product.
As an English major, I love a good mystery novel, a well-crafted ending. Studying the greatest storytellers in film and prose has given me a deep appreciation for Wes Anderson and William Faulkner. “The Sound and the Fury,” “A Rose for Emily,” and “The Life Aquatic” are some of the greatest stories of all time. Mysteries are where brilliant storytelling and critical thinking meet.
